Housing inventory refers to the total number of housing units. It includes houses
that are sold, for sale, rented, for rent, vacant and held off the market. Data
is collected and updated by the U.S. Census Bureau. The following charts show the
total housing units for each of the latest 8 quarters and for the years from 2000.
