What are the principal differences between valuing a Mining Company that is in production and a Consumer Products Company?
I think that if I have a better understanding of the differences in how one ought to value a Mining Company that is in production (as contrasted to a Mining Exploration Company) and a Consumer Products Company that it will help me in my Resource Company research.

The principle dofference between a moning company and a consumer products is the valuation of the resource in the ground.  To value this upou mist how muchproven is in the ground, mining costs, the rate of production and the price the concentrate will be selling at in the future.  Then you present value that by a  that you want to earn.  If thepresent value is at or below the current stock then it might be a buy.  Factors effecting this approach are changes in the commodity value, actual production rates and operating costs.
