The Consumer Price Index (CPI), a measure of inflation, is an index number that
measures the average price of consumer goods and services purchased by households.
Data is reported monthly with the preceding year as base year. Data is collected
and updated by the National Bureau of Statistics of China. The following chart shows
the annual percentage change in CPI from 2000.
