The Consumer Price Index (CPI), a measure of inflation, is an index number that measures the average price of consumer goods and services purchased by households. Data has a base period of 1982-1984. Data is collected and updated by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. The following charts shows each of the latest reported trailing twelve months and the annual percentage change in CPI from 2000.
