Alberta Oilsands Inc. engages in the exploration, development, and production of bitumen and heavy oil in the Athabasca oil sands region of northeast Alberta. The company has approximately 92,480 gross (80,160 net) acres of oil sands leases. It principally focuses on its 100% owned Clearwater West Project, which consists of approximately 32 sections of oil sands leases. The company was formerly known as Platform Resources Inc. and changed its name to Alberta Oilsands Inc. in May 2007. Alberta Oilsands Inc. was incorporated in 2003 and is headquartered in Calgary, Canada.
