Good Morning:
Portfolio Management
System
We have just added a Portfolio Management System
to StockResearchPortal.com.
Unlike other Internet Portfolio Systems we are familiar with, ours:
·
is restricted to the inclusion of
the Resource Stocks included in our website's 'Company Universe;
·
is divided into 3 separate and distinct
Portfolios - (1) My Investment Portfolio, (2) My Trading Portfolio, and (3) My Watched
Stocks - each of which can be separately managed;
·
calculates the average cost per share
of each stock held by a Subscriber in either his/her Investment or Trading Portfolio,
and the notional cost per share of each stock included in a Subscriber's 'Watched
Stocks' Portfolio;
·
includes four separate tables for
each of the 3 Portfolios - (1) a Transactions Table where individual company share
purchases and sales are entered, and gains and losses on share sales are calculated
and displayed, (2) a Portfolio Summary Table which automatically updates (in 20
minutes delayed time) daily volumes, price changes, and gains/losses for each portfolio
stock, (3) a Liquidity Table that automatically updates (in 20 minutes delayed time)
the relationship between the size of each shareholding and the trailing 3 month
and 12 month average daily volume for each portfolio stock, and (4) a News Table
that provides immediate links to 5 different types of news released in the past
7 days for each Portfolio stock.
Our Portfolio Management System can be accessed
from the middle 'Main Navigation Bar' at the top of the Home Page, or from the 3
new 'gold' buttons found in the upper middle of the Home Page.
I will be interested in learning if readers know
of a 'multiple' Portfolio Management System similar to the one we have developed
- particularly if anyone knows of one that splits 'Investment Portfolios' from 'Trading
Portfolios'. The idea for this split came from a Subscriber/Friend,
Tony Simon. Tony is a Chartered Accountant (U.S. CPA equivalent)
based in Vancouver who long has had an interest and successful career in the Mining
Industry. Tony contacted me several months ago as a result of
his interest in what we are developing at StockResearchPortal.com.
Since then he has made many intuitive and helpful suggestions.
Frankly, I wouldn't have thought of splitting one's Portfolio between Investment
and Trading. The second Tony suggested doing that the idea resonated
with me. I hope it resonates with you as well.
If you think it is a good idea, give all the credit to Tony.
I plan to provide instructions on how to best use
our Portfolio Management System in my e-mails over the next two weeks.
